Self-SEO
Wow, less than 24 hours after getting myself setup on Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Profiles and I am literally watching myself climb up the ladder. This morning I was no where to be found, then was on the bottom of the second page and am gradually working my way up it.
I can’t say for sure what Google likes, but I have a few suspicions.
This site has been around for nearly a decade. So what if it was completely without content for most of those 9 years, at least Google has been seeing it for a while.
I’m linking to reputable sites, and they are linking to me.
I’m letting Google place ads on my pages.
My competition sucks. This is most likely the biggest factor. Seriously, take a look at the other Chris McNeills out there.
Lastly, I think I’m getting good placement because I’m writing blog posts like this, with the specific goal of landing in that coveted first spot when someone Googles ‘Chris McNeill’. Maybe after I hit that, I’ll go for using my full name.
Cheers,
Chris
